Faculty: Robert Coben, Ph.D., BCIA–EEG, qEEG-D. Dr Coben is a UCLA trained
Neuropsychologist with board certification in EEG Biofeedback and
QEEG. He has collected one of the largest clinical databases including QEEG, multiple forms of connectivity indices and pre and post – NF data that exists. This is being used to study how to maximally benefit NF clients; data regarding treatment of TBI, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disabilities will be presented.

William Hudspeth, Ph.D., qEEG–D. Dr. Hudspeth has postdoctoral training in
neurophysiology and neuroanatomy from UCLA and he has 35 years of experience in the study of quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG). He has designed and implemented the most extensive battery of connectivity indices currently available in the field.

Course Description:

A.) Learn about EEG/QEEG recording, analysis, and QEEG databases. EEG recording principles: real-time monitoring, artifact control, state comparisons and reliability/validity issues.

B.) Provide an understanding for the assessment of EEG Coherence. Survey the anatomical bases for cerebral connectivities and their relationship to EEG magnitude and other measurements that provide inferences about the integrity of intersystem integration. The course will: a.) review recent studies that reveal limitations in the routine measurements used to assess connectivities and b.) provide an extensive set of methods to represent connectivity indices and obtain the best possible interpretations.

C.) Application of QEEG and EEG Coherence measurements for setting up of EEG NF Coherence training protocols. These will be applied to such problems as those included in the following problems: a.) autism and autistic spectrum disorders; b.) traumatic brain injuries; c.) attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder and d.) learning disabilities.

Eight (8) hours of APA and BCIA continuing education credit is available for those who require training certifications.
